Jesus said according to The Book of Thomas: “… examine yourself and understand who you are, how you exist,, and how you will come to be … For those who have not known themselves have known nothing, but those who have known themselves already have acquired knowledge about the depth of the All.”

We struggle at times with chaos when searching for the meaning of our lives. We want to believe that there is something in us that transcends the “smallness” of our existence and we would like to free ourselves from all that limits us. The same desire inspires the heroes of this book, who strived for knowledge and for whom truth was more important than glory. They speak to us insofar as we are open to hear them.
